Pre-game checklist

• Ensure your phones are fully charged, have what3words installed and have a mobile data plan
• Always wear your unit scarf
• Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, you will be outside the whole time
• Bring a drink and protection from the sun (if required)
• Take some time to plan your route – it will help!

Instructions / Rules

• The aim of the game is to earn more money than the opposing teams.
• Teams must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 Explorer Scouts.
• You must compete in your registered team, with no separating at any point
• The game must be completed entirely on foot. No other forms of transport are allowed.
• Each team will have their own WhatsApp group. Use a phone to register with the group and use that phone throughout the whole game. There are two purposes of the WhatsApp group, the first is to communicate throughout the game and the second is to track your earnings.
• Rather than buying properties as you would in the board game, you will be rewarded for visiting roads.
• You will be given a map of the game area, on which each type of road will be highlighted in a different colour. The colour of each road will correspond to a value, or point of interest, as detailed on the key. To earn each road-associated reward, you will be required to prove your team’s attendance. This will take the form of a single selfie, which must clearly include the face of every team member and the road sign.
• To ensure an accurate log of monies, you must submit each selfie as soon as you have taken it. You can do this by sending it to your WhatsApp group. Selfies submitted after the game has ended will not count.
• The Chester’s Community Chest car will travel within the area offering the teams who locate the car a chance to select a card and earn bonus money by completing a task.
• A Jail bicycle will be riding around the game area trying to catch you. You will be deemed caught if the rider draws level with you and shouts “Jail”.  You must then either present a ‘Get out of jail free card’, or remain within Jail’s delightful company for 5 minutes. Failure to stop will result in an automatic £200 fine.
• There is one last reward on offer during the game Chester’s Chance Locations. There will be four what3words locations which will be reviled 30 minutes into the game via a WhatsApp message. At these locations, you will find an orienteering checkpoint punch to mark your card. Visiting any or all of these locations could boost or reduce your final earnings at the end of the game.
• You have 1 hour 30 minutes of game time, you start at 7:45 pm must return before 9:15 pm, every minute over will cost you in fines.
