Health and Safety
Our activities are led by experienced volunteers and we encourage Scouts to practice safety in all situations from keeping safe at the premises, event safety planning, keeping safe at camp, planning and risk assessing, and awarding safety badges.
We aim to promote the National Safe Scouting Cards. The National Safe Scouting Cards cover four key areas and are a national resource and available for all.
Young People First Card – Every adult has a copy of the Young People First code of practice. Designed to keep it with you at all times during Scouting activities.
Safe Scouting and what to do in an emergency – The Purple card provides support for safe Scouting and guidance in the procedures for dealing with an emergency.
Young People First – The Orange card is a code of practice for young people. It’s the policy of The Scout Association to safeguard the welfare of all members by protecting them from neglect and from physical, sexual and emotional harm.
Scouting and alcohol – The Green card sets out our policy on alcohol for all adults involved in Scouting.
