We have five thriving sections here at 4th Thorpe Bay: A Beaver colony, a Cub pack, two Scout troops and an Explorer unit (Patriot ESU).

All sections meet at Thorpe Greenways School on the following days and times:

Wednesday

Beavers: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Cubs: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Scouts: 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Explorers: 7:45pm – 9:30pm

Thursday

Scouts: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Our group Secretary manages the waiting list and movements within the Scout Group. 4th Thorpe Bay Scout Group and Patriot ESU are a very popular and successful group, and it is normal for our sections within the group to run at full capacity. As a result, entry numbers to all sections must be managed.

When places become available in any of our sections, priority will be given to those who have been on the waiting list the longest and places are allocated in the following order of priority:

  1. Children of leaders and executive committee members with key roles. Our priority is to provide enthusiastic adult leadership in each section enabling us to run a balanced and exciting programme for our young people. We are always recruiting new leaders and therefore offer priority to children of leaders and committee members.
  2. Siblings of Beavers, Cubs or Scouts currently enrolled
  3. Members of another Scout group (outside of the district) moving into the area
  4. Anyone else on the waiting list.

You can add your child to our waiting list but please also complete a contact us form to the section leader for your child’s current age, so that leader can get in touch.

Our sections are supported by a dedicated group of adult volunteers and young leaders that are committed to giving the young people skills for life.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
