A Covid Update Risk & New Measures – Dec 2021
A Covid Update Risk & New Measures – Dec 2021 We wanted to update you all. Since the start of the pandemic, we have always undertaken risk assessments and introduced the appropriate safety measures for all our Scouts, parent involvement and for our leaders and volunteers. We have also followed and maintained national guidance requirements for Scouting. Following the most recent government guidance in England, we wanted to update you on everything to keep our Scouts, supporters and colleagues safe when with us.
Our Scouts, supporters, leaders and volunteers will all be required to follow the most recent Government guidance for England on mask-wearing, unless exempt. We have, as a further precaution, also decided that our leaders and committee members meet online until further notice.
Although the national alert level for Scouting has just moved from Green mode to Yellow mode, we can continue activities but are required to take account of the new National Guidance, please read the web page below for full details. Should there be any further changes, we will of course notify you. We are also keeping abreast of any local requirements from Southend On Sea Council, this could affect premises as they oversee school policy. Again we will update accordingly as soon as we are aware of any changes.
As always, the cleaning of locations where we meet continues with sanitising of areas used. We will also ensure ventilation and airflow during indoor activities. Scout leaders and volunteers will have some spare new masks available for those over 11 who must wear one during activities unless of course, they are exempt.
Thank you for your ongoing involvement and support, and for helping us keep everyone safe. We wish you a happy festive period and the very best for the New Year.
